Just Wait For It

I'd like to open this bright new post up with: I loooovvee hanging out with friends! It's the best thing in the world.

It has been awhile. Yeap. No worries though, I've been busy lugging through my senior year in high school and trying to cope with the fact that my reality will remain Georgia-tinted for at least another 5 years. I'm stuck in Georgia for college, hip hip hooray. I really wish that it wasn't true. The only thing getting me through is the option for study abroad I'll have sophomore year. It's in London! Well for this summer, my last one before I go off to live on my own, I've been exercising and not much else. I've decided to be healthy, despite what modern America wants. Which, so far, has been the opposite. I'm a vegetarian now too. Yeap. Since April 11th. It isn't as bad as you might think. As far as other things go, I went on a week long trip to Edisto Island with Chelsea Weyler the day after graduation. Best week of 2011, easy. I got into Columbus State University too. And will be attending in the fall. I also managed to do a lot more insignificant things that aren't really worth repeating.
That's pretty much it for now.

p.s. this is all from my new laptop! I'm a pc.

Bells and Whistles: The Extras Come Included

So I've been using my summer vacation '010 (WOOT!) to re-think my life. My life, as in, what colleges I want to pursue, what books I wanna read, and what activities I want to be apart of before I'm officially a SENIOR:) in the fall.
I've decided that I'll stay in-state for my undergrad degree...
Which hurts my soul dearly, believe me. I want nothing more. Than to Leave. Georgia!
But it looks like that dream won't be realized for another FOUR years. O well. I'm thinking about seriously double-majoring, which apparently is a harrowing feet of unspeakable dimensions (people say it's impossible, whatever). Or else I'll major in Psychology or something, and minor in theatre. But. I refuse to give up the arts. I will major or minor in an art. Preferably theatre.
I am wondering what will happen to my vocal endeavours...
I have books!! Can I just list them first?

*Life of Pi by Yann Martel (Required Summer Reading)

*An Acrobat of the Heart by Stephen Wangh

*Being and Nothingness be Jean-Paul Sartre

*How to Be an Adult by David Richo

*Audition by Michael Shurtleff

*The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason

*Going After Cacciato by Tim O'Brien

...& more!

Ha, that looks like and advertisement. These are all books I haven't read or haven't finished and I am going to finish them this summer. What a challenge...yum.

OMG.
So I auditioned for this summer program and made it--so exciting. It's the first summer program I've ever done and it's acting! Doesn't get better, I swear. Because it's also FREE. It's called the Collision Project and it's being hosted at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. I don't know much about the details of the program, except that they invite 17-27 teenagers from around the area to write and direct a play structured around the them of a classic text. It's all about "colliding" ideas and movements to make a show, and at the end, we tour a few high schools with our show. I'm so glad that I'm gunna stay active in acting this summer, since I love it, and it's what I wanna do. And YAY YAY YAY, I get to act with an all new crowd. This is gunna be awesome...
Enneagrams. I'm starting to believe I'm a 5/4...
As in, my ennneagram personality type is a core 5 with a 4 wing of influence. I used to thing I was a core 4 with a 5 wing of influence. But I want to read up on all of the personality typings now. This thing is like the Myers-Briggs personality typing--in fact, they are directly related. Where Myers-Briggs tells you what the dominant characteristics of your personality are, the enneagram system explains why you poses such traits, your recessive characteristics (wing of influence), and the level at which you function (healthy, average, unhealthy). So, it's a fantastically more in-depth look at personality typing, involving steps to integration to achieve a balance of all types. It's fun! I love it and it is very insightful...I'll probably end up talking about this every time I post...
Well, I am working on working more efficiently so I should go. And do some other things I'd like to do. Like live. :)

Imaginary Circumstances

Not much going on in my world, to tell the truth, just adjusting to a new home. No furniture, just the electronics--TV and desktop. Well, so far any ways. So for the past week, and probably for the next two, we've been floormates without even a mattress or comforters to make the illusion of a some-what bed. (Good thing I stole a blanket from the hotel.) But that's what the kitchen counter tops are for when the floor gets too familiar a place to lay my head. I'm really loving the idea that I can finally paint my room. After so much long anticipation of this very moment, I'm at a lose as to what color I want...doesn't life always seem to work out like that? Well, mine. I think I am going to loose a part of myself in the process of completing summer reading. I don't hate the book choices, but I just can never get around to doing the whole "shut up and read" thingamajig. It's just in my DNA to rebel against any kind of work required during down time, and summer is my ultimate down time. I'm too lazy to do it, and I'm gunna have to force the work, the creative juices. I hate forcing things. Like acting like you wanna go to a party your friend invited you to, when your stomach is knotting up just thinking about walking through that door, and your mind is steady thinking up ways to get out of this trap you stepped right into. And on a bluer note, I can't seem to put my finger on who is hi-jacking my thoughts. Is it a mystery? I think it's my own creation, a figment of what could only be my imagination. I wish it was someone I knew, like an interesting fellow from not exactly a certain place, but with so much person you wouldn't even mind, and even the stylish tendencies of a European model. He could be a somebody or a nobody or an artist or (not a heroine addict!) a philosopher, a poet, even a rocker. I just want to believe I will know them some how this semester, after summer waves goodbye and I'm left in the dust, just me, school, and the world. This guy is clouding my thoughts and he's disrupting my natural flow, and I can't help but think, "Are you real already?". Maybe the love that my friends feel is pouring over into my very own subconscious, which is now some how finding its way into my conscious thoughts. Whatever my soul has chosen to do with my emotions, I wanna see it. I wanna open my eyes and realize I wasn't dreaming the whole thing up in my head. And there it is. Thank you, that's it. That's it. I've got to look for him. Bam, that just happened.

Why Wait?

It's happening again. Life is exuberantly floating by, and I still haven't discovered a way to make it stop; or at least slow down enough to include me in its antics. It's like pedestrian crossing in a way. Whenever you're on the street and you're the pedestrian waiting for the light to change, it's like it takes forever and a day. Time you could have spent walking to your destination is gone; inadvertently wasted into the abyss never to be seen from or heard of again. It's that vital to me. I don't want this summer to be just another wast of time. I've loitered around the house many a summer, laying in bed until sometimes 3 in the afternoon. I've wasted too many hours in front of the computer or TV set spoiling my summer freedom. My biggest pastime: doing absolutely nothing. I am a very creative individual so there is no reason for this insane wasting of time, I could be writing poetry or reading books or going out with friends or going somewhere...the list goes on. I can't quite understand why I have such a productivity deficiency during the summer, but its there, its here now. I've put a plan in motion to stop this dissipation head on: a book. I'm creating a photo anthology to help my creative flow stay alive in this drought prone season, and I hope to the highest mountain top that this plan doesn't fall through. I'm bored and I'm finally doing something proactive. Bump the crosswalk; I'm jaywalking this business.
